How to contact AFA Insolvency about your IVA

AFA Insolvency gives one phone number and a separate email address for each type of query. For anything about closing your IVA, its contact page points you to the supervision address.

Getting your AFA completion certificate

AFA says that on satisfactory completion you are issued with a Completion Certificate "to demonstrate that your IVA is complete", and that your debts are written off once everything in the proposal has been paid and the certificate received. Email supervision@afainsolvency.co.uk if you are waiting for yours.

Put your request in writing with your IVA reference, and search your name on the Individual Insolvency Register to check the IVA shows as completed.

Checking your credit file and the register

Your credit file should show your AFA IVA as completed. Ask Experian, Equifax and TransUnion for your statutory credit report, which each must provide free, and check the IVA and the accounts it covered.

Where something is wrong, the agency must investigate and correct anything wrong; your completion certificate shows what should be recorded. A search of the Individual Insolvency Register confirms how your IVA is listed.
