How to contact Bennett Jones about your IVA

Bennett Jones gives existing customers a different number from new enquiries, so use the existing-customer line. Its Client Area on its website has separate pages for clients whose IVAs came from Hunters Financial, Debt Champion and Abbotts Insolvency, which Bennett Jones now handles.

Getting your Bennett Jones completion certificate

Bennett Jones says that when your IVA ends you receive a report from your IVA supervisor confirming it has been successfully concluded, and that once the final payment is made you are no longer liable for the debts included. If the report hasn't reached you, ask the existing-customer team for it in writing, quoting your IVA reference.

Checking your credit file and the register

Bennett Jones says the supervisor updates the Individual Insolvency Register when your IVA concludes. Start with your statutory credit reports: Experian, Equifax and TransUnion must each give you one free.

Check that your Bennett Jones IVA is marked as completed and that the debts in it reflect that. If they don't, raise it with the agency, which must investigate and correct anything wrong, and attach your completion certificate.
